A Sparrow’s Sad Song

Explaining death to a child is always difficult, especially when the adults are grieving and are at a loss for words.  When my sister died, I had some tough questions to answer from my own young boys:   Where is aunty Eva?   When is she coming over?  And the most brutal:  But I want to go see her!  I muddled through the explanations the best way I could, and then I wrote my boys this story.

In A Sparrow’s Sad Song, a very special family member is lost through an unexpected illness. Once you enter the world of the Kolanaville Forest, you will get to know these furry friends. You will feel their hearts break with sadness, but more importantly, you will feel the triumphant glow of love, the happiness, joy and renewed hope.  Baba Bear, Queen of the Koalas, teaches that love never dies, even though the physical shell does.

In writing A Sparrow’s Sad Song, my goal was to convey to my two young boys that even though their aunt was no longer with us, her spirit and her love live on forever. I know this story has helped them cope with the sadness of her passing, as it has for me.

Get Familiar with the Story of a Crime Victim

When Angels Die” is a motivational book that took a very long time to write. Having survived a brutal attack at the hands of a sadistic rapist and left for dead, this story details the slow rebuilding of a life while dealing with nightmares and flashbacks, fear, pain, and a burning, boiling anger.

This book explains how to cope with post traumatic stress disorder, attempted suicides, and finally, the therapy that saved an entire family. “When Angels Die” is truly an inspirational novel. It was originally written as a form of self-help therapy, and is now dedicated to those who need help and guidance in making the emotional transition from being a crime victim to being a survivor.

Welcome to My Blog!
